The difference between the exciter and the modulator is that, in addition to the basic modulation function (converting audio and video AV signals into radio frequency RF signals), is it whether to add the amplification function of the pre-stage part, and the amplification function is the exciter, and there is no pre-stage. amplification function Is the modulator.

Because the modulator does not involve the influence of pre-stage power amplification, there is no influence of the narrow channel of the power amplifier, and it can be adjusted in the entire frequency band (including VHF and UHF).


However, because the exciter has a part of pre-stage power amplification, the bandwidth of the power amplifier is relatively narrow, and the general adjustable frequency range is very narrow.

But as a transmitter, it contains a power amplifier, which limits the frequency adjustable range.

In other words, even if the transmitter uses an agile modulator, even if the modulator is adjustable over the entire frequency band, the frequency adjustment range of the overall transmitter is limited.
